Artist
‘Artist’ is a series that emerged through retrospect.
I shot my first image of an artist at work in March 2009 and since then have shot others unconscious that they were part of a theme. Only when I photographed a lone artist sketching at Trafalgar Square in January 2011 did I recognise that this was the basis for an ongoing series of images.
There is no deadline for this series so will continue to run until such time as I feel I have exhausted the theme.

Mags and Rags
‘Mags and Rags’ is a series of images around the theme of magazines and newspapers. This project emerged in retrospect similar to ‘Artists’ and both themes began with a single image on the same date in March 2009.
One of my all time favourite photographers André Kertész (with whom I share a birthday) photographed a series entitled ‘On Reading’ and it is one of my favourite photo books currently in my possession. As a keen reader since childhood, it is evident that the way we consume magazines, books and newspapers is changing and I want to keep recording photographs of this declining medium whilst it still exists as we have no idea how long it can continue in the face of declining markets and the emergence of digital content.

Boomerang Girl
I started working initially on a self-assigned 12 month photo project charting the progress of Tonbridge based electric folk-rock four-piece The Good Ship Band in January 2010 which I published as a photobook late 2011.
When I first heard the bands ballad Boomerang Girl, I held an ambition to bring the song to life which eventually culminated in the production of this photo story book and a companion music video.
